TULIPS (Training Upcoming Leaders in Pediatric Science) is a national post-graduate training organization for clinician-scientists in the field of Child Health. Our vision is that high-quality research is required to improve child health in the Netherlands.

This non-profit organization was modeled after and created in collaboration with the successful Canadian Child Health program (CCHCSP). TULIPS aims to stimulate and to help talented clinician scientists to develop skills, knowledge, tools and create a network to become internationally recognized leaders in the field of child health.

To achieve this, TULIPS provides two differentiated 2-year curricula for selected PhD or post-doc clinician-scientists. In addition, TULIPS organizes an open program with workshops, a grant-writing and presenting weekend (for Dutch and international participants), the annual TULIPS Symposium for young researchers and a multidisciplinary Child Health Symposium.

TULIPS is supported - both financially and in kind - by all Academic Centers in the Netherlands. We are still a young organization; nevertheless, it becomes clear that participants in the programs achieve clinician-scientist careers, receive prestigious grants and high impact publications. Efforts are now focused on expanding internationalization and strengthening the TULIPS community / research platform by investing in a strong alumni network.
